"Do Something Awards Honor Five Young Humanitarians"

An awesome update from the Darius Weems group, via Facebook...

"The Good News is that, thanks to YOU, we won the online vote by a landslide. The bad news is that we did not win the $100k grand prize. The GREAT NEWS is that while we were on stage something crazy happened with MTV....

In a special presentation to Darius alone, it was announced that his multi-award-winning documentary, Darius Goes West, will be televised on--are you ready for this--MTV2 and MTVU!!! In addition, MTV donated $10,000 to DMD research.

You can watch the presentation here: http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/398684/do-something-awards-honor-five-young-humanitarians.jhtml

At Q&As, the number one question Darius and the crew are always asked is, "Have you ever heard anything from MTV?" And D and the crew's response has always been, "It's not too late...they could sponsor us, or they could show the movie on MTV." Well, now they are! Now, with your help, we can truly reach the millions of viewers that we set out to reach so long ago.

Once we have details of when the movie will be televised, we'll be sure to let you know. Meanwhile, thanks again for your votes! And congrats to all the other Do Something finalists, with a special shout out to grand prize winner, Maggie Doyne.
