SHANGHAI, baby!

(Photograph used from Google Images)

I guess I should take more naps! This afternoon, after doing a morning photo shoot, I felt rather exhausted and decided to take a nap (a luxury that I have really missed out on this busy semester). Waking up with bed sheet creases in my arm--always a telltale sign of good sleep--and a pool of drool on my pillow, I checked my Blackberry for updates, and saw a message sitting freshly in my inbox with the subject line:"Shanghai Week." My roommate says I woke up in a daze shouting, "No, no, no, no, no." I think I was overall pretty confused, shocked, and simply in awe of the offer presented in my palm. I couldn't believe what was happening.

For the first summer school session here at Chapel Hill, I applied and got accepted into a 4-week program called "Hangin' with Mike & Jay." Basically, Mike & Jay are our professors. And, we hang. We (11 Carolina kids) are a multimedia team working to construct a creative website for our client: Kenan Flagler Business School. In order to do that, members of our multimedia team must travel throughout the nation and world to document the B School's professors and students, and all that they're doing around the world. Sounds like a pretty sweet gig to me. It looks like a gorgeous place, and is undoubtedly a place to visit on my bucket list!

So, after much praying, schedule reconfiguring, and pros/cons lists, I have restructured my calendar for Shanghai, China. I'm leaving THIS Thursday (yes, only two days away now), and will return next Wednesday, May 13th. It should be quite the adventure...and I'll be sure to keep you posted! Until then, maybe we can learn together...
